"I Fall to Pieces" by Patsy Cline
This week I chose the country/pop song by Patsy Cline, "I Fall to Pieces". It is one of Patsy's most popular songs that was on her album "Showcase". It was her first number one country hit. I like this song. When you listen to the lyrics and understand what it is about it makes it so much more interesting. It is about how a girl is in love with a man but he doesn't want them to be together and the girl doesn't understand why. So she falls to pieces every time she sees him and whenever she hears his name. She can't be just his friend, she tries to forget him but she can't. Every time she tries to go our with someone new, he walks by and she falls to pieces. I think the target audience is girls who can relate to this situation. Girls who have experienced not being wanted by a guy and being heartbroken over and over again. Patsy sings this song with so much class. Her voice is very soothing and easy to listen to. Why it was so popular is because of the story it tells and the classiness of how it is sung. This song and post is my favorite one so far. I am now a Patsy Cline fan.
I agree that this is a great song! I can't say I relate to this song as much as a girl might for the simple fact I'm a guy, but it's a good song nonetheless. This song is too sad!!

ReplyDeleteI agree that she has a voice that is very easy to listen to and I can see why it became popular! It is really cool how she can write a song with so much emotion, yet perform it with so much class.
